CAKE PICNIC is officially making its first Latin America stop in Mexico City.

The moment we’ve been building toward: so many cakes and cake lovers coming together in CDMX for a citywide celebration of baking, creativity, and community. There’s no place more fitting for this milestone than Mexico City, a place where food is culture, history, and daily ritual, and where creativity shows up boldly on every plate.

Mexico City’s cake community is vibrant, expressive, and deeply rooted. From tres leches and pastel de tres chocolates to pan dulce-inspired layers, frutas, spices, and rich chocolate traditions, the cakes here tell stories of family, region, and reinvention. It’s a city where technique meets intuition, where tradition evolves, and where flavor is never an afterthought.

For this special stop, CAKE PICNIC is partnering with Odette Olavarri of ODETTE. Odette will also be the first creative director of a CAKE PICNIC tour stop. As creative director, Odette will design and curate the experience for all of us to make sure this tour stop is extra special and brings the best of Mexico City. As the tour stop’s creative director, we’ve asked Odette to set a theme for our cakes. We are proud to share:

For our first Latin America CAKE PICNIC, we’re looking to the poetry of the Mexican market. Rows of sun-warmed fruit, baskets overflowing with color, the scent of chocolate and spice in the air, hand-painted signs, flowers tucked between crates, and the hum of daily life unfolding all at once. This theme is an invitation to translate that feeling into cake.

Let your cake be inspired by what you might wander past in a mercado: the colors of stacked mangoes and papayas, the deep reds of hibiscus, the earthiness of cacao and piloncillo, the softness of pan dulce, the quiet beauty of everyday abundance. Inspiration can show up in flavor, decoration, color, or mood.

There’s no need to recreate anything literally. Instead, we encourage you to capture a moment, a memory, or a sensory impression. Bring a cake that feels alive with color, warmth, and intention — a cake that belongs at the table.

Bake a cake you’re proud of and join us as CAKE PICNIC lands in Mexico City for its first Latin America gathering, bringing our global community together one cake at a time.

Ticket price is in US Dollar!
