KitchenAid, the brand synonymous with home baking excellence, is partnering with CAKE PICNIC for its Sydney debut, bringing a curated, community-focused baking event to the Royal Botanic Gardens - one of the city’s most iconic outdoor venues, with sweeping views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and city skyline - on March 28th, 2026.  The event will welcome 500 guests and, in true CAKE PICNIC fashion, the rule remains: NO CAKE, NO ENTRY.

The Sydney edition of CAKE PICNIC is set to become the city’s most elaborate and vibrant community cake gathering - a celebration of creativity, colour, and connection. From delicate chiffon cakes to multi-tiered masterpieces, the event promises a true feast for the senses and a moment where cake lovers unite.

Much like CAKE PICNIC itself, KitchenAid has long been celebrated for inspiring creativity through thoughtful design, bold colour stories, and endless culinary possibilities. The event will spotlight their highly anticipated sixth Colour of the Year, showcased through the iconic Artisan Stand Mixer, officially revealed on 13 February 2026 - bringing both style and function to the heart of baking.

One of Australia’s most viral cake shops, ENZE, is joining the sweet day out. Founder Stella has built a true cake empire - turning her passion into a thriving business and online phenomenon, with a cult following of 571K across TikTok and Instagram. Much like CAKE PICNIC itself, ENZE’s rise began with a simple idea that resonated widely. With her flagship store in Ryde, Stella is now expanding with a second Sydney location opening in Barangaroo.

“ENZE started with this simple idea that cake can be cloud‑soft, balanced and made with real care, and it’s pretty special to see that show up at Sydney’s first CAKE PICNIC. KitchenAid has been with us since the home‑kitchen days, so working with them now to celebrate cakes – and the bakers behind them – feels like things coming full circle. With our new Barangaroo store, we’re not just opening another shop; we’re creating a spot where our online community, our neighbours and other bakers can all meet over a slice. It’s a big moment for us, but at the end of the day it’s still about the same thing: making really good cakes, on purpose.”

KitchenAid has long been celebrated for empowering home bakers with professional-quality tools, inspiring creativity and innovation in kitchens worldwide. Together with CAKE PICNIC and ENZE, this Sydney-first event promises a day of sweetness, with 500 cakes, bursts of colour, hands-on learning, and inspiration for baking enthusiasts of all levels.

CAKE PICNIC is a gathering for the love of cake. It celebrates cake in all of its forms. It brings communities and friends together for the sole purpose of breaking cake and enjoying the following butter and sugar highs. To be surrounded by as many cakes as there are humans is definitely something special, right? It is a moment in time where we come together for something truly sweet. Every attendee brings a whole cake. It is a feast for the ages and you just have to be there.

What kind of cakes can I bring?

Anything that feels special to you, homemade or from a local bakery. We’ve seen everything from chiffon cakes, upside-down cakes, meringue cakes, trifles, buttercream-layered cakes, to family recipes passed down for generations. The cake you bring becomes part of the story we share that day. The most popular cakes have been: pistachio, chocolate, strawberry, passion fruit, guava, black sesame, Russian honey cake, and savory cakes. Several stunning cakes featured at the event have gone viral!

Important: We want to eat well. Please only bring cakes that you are absolutely excited about and would be proud to share with others. If you have never baked a cake before, you should practice baking several cakes before the event to prepare. If you aren’t inspired to bring the best cake that you can, this event is not for you.
